In the areas I pay attention to, 7 homes came on the market this morning. They included a home on Tulane in Clintonville, a Gahanna Condo, a New Albany new build and this four bed, 2 1/2 bath home in Westerville which chose to make a first impression with this same County Auditor photo in the MLS for buyers to enjoy.
I don’t follow the markets of all eight counties which post listings the Columbus MLS but I try to stay on top of everything inside I-270 and a few suburbs like Gahanna, Westerville and Worthington. The highest MLS number I saw this morning was 2902249 – a double on the near West side.
The 29 at the beginning will grace every MLS number to come out in Columbus this year. So, if you’re wondering how long something has been on the market this coming June and you see it has an MLS number that starts with 28, it’s at least five plus months. The rest of the number is just assigned on a first come, first served basis and doesn’t mean much of anything. Sine I saw a 2902249, I know that the first three weeks of 2009 have seen at least 2,249 listings hit the Central Ohio Market – about 107/day on average.
In 2008, around 50,000 listings came on the MLS or, about 137/day.
