2009 Outlook for Columbus Homes Blog
January 7th, 2009 categories: About Me?, For Home Buyers, For Home Sellers
From the Short North to Long Street, from I-270 to I-670, I'm looking forward to helping you with your Real Estate needs in 2009
Looking back on my what do you want to see for 2008 post I wrote over a year ago, I’ve not accomplished much of what I wanted to do here on the blog. In fact, I can almost copy and paste the whole thing plus reader comments and use it as a guide for working on this space in 2009.
Of course I was rather focused on getting a state of Ohio Brokers Licence and Opening Delicious Real Estate in 2008. Also, the truth is that I’m a Realtor who blogs, not a blogger who does some real estate on the side. My biggest challenge this year will be getting the word out about Delicious Real Estate and combining this blog and my personality with the Delicious Web Site which is still in Beta and needs lots of tweaking.
Finding a voice and building the brand that is Delicious Real Estate will also take some time and energy. I feel like this will be a very busy and fulfilling year for me as I help clients I’ve yet to meet or hear from buy or sell their Columbus area homes. If you are one of those people, it’s never too early to touch base. I want your business and I look forward to working with you. If you simply aware of me and this blog but know someone who may be buying or selling a home this year, I appreciate you putting in a good word for me. I’ll take care of your friends and family to the best of my ability. If you’re a Realtor thinking of making a move, I would like to talk to you and see if Delicious Real Estate could be a good fit.
Without further ado, here is the list of items from last year and this year with notes on progress or things I’m working on for this blog throughout the coming year:
While I do try to get an average of one per day, I don’t always get there. I do sometimes go 3 days or so without a post, especially on the weekends when I’m working or doing that family time thing. So, next year I’m pledging an average of a post a day—not a post every day mind you— but an average of a post a day, at least.
I will also:
- begin podcasting—I may do some podcasting but I feel like that ship has, for the most part, sailed – may as well just do video.
- begin vlogging—ie. more blogging with video
- begin talking to local people about local issues via the above
- talk more about specific communities outside of home prices, etc.
- Add an awesome home search right from the blog—- I’m happy with the home search on the top right corner of every page. It links to the Delicious Real Estate home search site which is a good search with lots of great tools should you sign up for the Delicious Home Search Organizer. This is much simpler now that I’m a broker.
- Add slideshows of the housing stock in individual neighborhoods—I’ve done this in a couple places but I’m working on better shows.
- Somehow incorporate other inside-270 neighborhoods I work in like Eastmoor, WestGate, Berwick, Worthington and Upper Arlington into the mix.–-Still working on this
- Add more minutiae of my daily real estate workings – though I may think you’ll find it boring, I’m told that’s what you’d like to read about, especially where it may be similar to what you’d go through buying or selling your home.—-This is where incorporating Utterli and Twitter into this blog may come in handy.
- Find a way to seamlessly meld this blog to the rest of my online presence, especially Delicious Real Estate.com.
- From Readers: more information about what sort of grants, tax credits, and special loans are applicable for different urban neighborhoods. There’s a lot of stuff out there, but no good central resource for that type of information.
- More personal stories, video testimonies, and that sort of thing. I always enjoy seeing the more personal side of home renovations and before-and-after photos.
What do you want to see, read about or hear on Columbus Homes Blog? Email or comment and I’ll consider it. It’s you I serve.
